Chinese developer Snail Games has confirmed that a closed beta for the company’s highly anticipated new MMO Black Gold Online will launch next year.
“The first closed beta is planned to launch at the earliest Q1 2014, (and) we are ensuring quality when it’s ready to meet the public eye,” said the company in a statement on their website. “All players who have registered prior will have a high chance of receiving first round of beta codes via their email.”
As reported earlier this year, Snail and game publisher Shanda have agreed to invest circa 200 million RMB for the title’s global promotion. The companies have also secured 600 million RMB for game development and marketing from investors Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and the Bank of Ningbo.
