More than a year ago, Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts announced that the companies were collaborating on building Nintendo-themed attractions at Universal’s parks. Both of the companies not providing much in the way of concrete details till today.
In the video, you can see Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Universal’s Mark Woodbury talking vaguely about their goals. Essentially, the parks – which will be at Universal’s Hollywood, Orlando, and Japan locations – will be A) interactive B) fun for all ages and C) will have multiple attractions.
The main details released were:
- Nintendo-themed areas are coming to Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort, and Universal Studios Hollywood.
- These will be expansive, immersive and interactive. They’ll be highly themed and authentic environments filled with multiple attractions, shops, and restaurants.
You’ll feel as if you’re playing inside your favorite games – in real life.
- There will be something for everyone—regardless of their age or gaming experience level.
- Planning and creative work on these areas are well underway; they will open separately over the next several years.
