CJ Corporation, the parent of Korean F2P game developer and publisher Netmarble, reported second quarter mobile game, music and film earnings grew 18 per cent year on year to 3,917 billion KRW, with record operating profits of 19.3 billion KRW.

Besides film distribution in China, the company has announced a game publishing partnership with leading Chinese online operator Tencent. As the market in Korea has matured, Netmarble has also recently established new subsidiaries and partnerships in North America, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Turkey, as a “new growth engine” for user acquisition overseas, according to a company statement.
