ChinaJoy 2013

The eleventh annual ChinaJoy game show came to a close on Sunday, and the organisers have announced total attendance figures of 201,112 during the four day event in Shanghai.

ChinaJoy 2013 featured several B2B and B2C exhibition halls with over 400 exhibitors, special press and consumer events, as well as a number of games industry conferences examining the games business, mobile and web game development, and other industry topics from both Chinese and overseas perspectives.

General impressions from the show floor: client-based MMOs continue to be popular in China; web game growth has slowed as domestic demand matures; and the mobile game market is expanding rapidly, with many Chinese studios now moving to mobile platforms. Chinese game developers are also looking to expand overseas, particularly in Southeast Asia, Russia and North America.
